Not sure where to start?
You are in the right place.
Whether you want to understand the basics, choose a protein powder, cook with protein, find something worth making, or simply make protein easier, you’re in the right place.
The idea behind Speaking of Protein.
I started this project as a mom who got tired of conflicting advice while trying to feed my family better. So I began digging into the research myself, and sharing what actually makes sense.
What you’ll actually find here.
Speaking of Protein helps everyday people make protein a practical part of eating well — without turning food into a numbers game.
Every guide, recipe, and recommendation gets filtered through one question: does this make protein easier to understand, choose, use, or enjoy?
If not, it doesn’t belong here.
About the recipes that aren’t mine.
Not every recipe here comes from my kitchen — and that’s intentional. Part of what I do is look for recipes already out there that are genuinely worth your time, and share what makes each one work.
When a recipe is curated rather than original, we say so clearly, and credit where it came from.
Curating with judgment, not just collecting links, is part of doing this honestly.
A good place to begin:
Protein Basics.
A practical introduction to what protein is, why it matters, and how it fits into everyday eating.

A tool for the curious, not the obsessive.
Speaking of Protein isn’t about tracking every gram you eat — but sometimes, it helps to actually see what’s in a meal.
I developed this tool to simplify exactly that: it shows you the macros and fiber behind any plate, without turning it into homework.
Think of it less like a food log, and more like a quick, honest look at what you’re already eating.
You don’t have to figure it all out at once.
Speaking of Protein is designed to help you build understanding over time — not give you another set of rules to follow.
Start with one question, follow what interests you, and come back when you need something else.
